Safety

LECESSE is firmly committed to promoting and maintaining the highest levels of jobsite safety and protection. We continuously strive to not only practice the highest safety standards available, but to educate our team, as we believe the health and wellbeing of each team member is crucial to a productive and satisfying work environment.

Our safety strategy begins with a clearly defined policy, and a procedures program which includes site-specific protection plans, hazard awareness and emergency preparedness. Orientation meetings are held for all new employees. Safety Inspections are regularly performed at all our jobsites with reports generated showing metrics for compliance and performance. Our field staff is trained and certified in First Aid CPR & AED programs. Additional training as required by the Environmental Protection Agency or OSHA takes place throughout the year.

Our formal safety program requires all subcontractors to have their own safety program in place and compliance with our on-site safety specific program. Maintaining a safe work environment is every employee’s responsibility. The jobsite superintendent leads the safety team. Procedures and accident prevention measures are monitored by our safety officer, who oversees safety policies and practices at all LECESSE job sites.

RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Written Company Safety Program
  • Employee training sessions
  • OSHA 30 Hour Course for all superintendents
  • Weekly tool box talks
  • Up-to-date hazard communication program
  • Employee safety equipment requirements
  • On-site inspection by our safety officer
  • Subcontractor requirement to adhere to all safety procedures

LECESSE has also implemented the Safety Violation Charity Program (SVCP) which involves LECESSE and all trade contractors. The SVCP is a disciplinary program structured to ensure all contractors on site understand and carry out their jobsite safety responsibilities. In the event a contractor, or an employee, commits a safety infraction, the contractor will be fined. The fines are donated to a charity previously chosen by the project owner.

LECESSE Construction is a multi-year recipient of the AGC NYS (formerly the General Building Contractors (GBC) of New York State) Safety Excellence Award.
