Samaritan Medical Center
Samaritan Summit Village sits on a 17 acre complex in Watertown, New York. The community consists of a 230,000 square foot 120-unit Assisted Living building, a 37,225 square foot two-story Commons and a 168 bed four-story Skilled Nursing Facility. The commons area connects the assisted-living and skilled-nursing sides and hosts a cafe, gift shop, reception area, sitting area with fireplace, chapel, a physician’s suite, general office space, a beauty salon and a private dining area with a bar that people may reserve for small parties.
In the assisted-living wings, open nursing stations have been replaced by enclosed offices. Each floor has a shared dining space that overlooks a fenced-in courtyard. One central kitchen prepares food for both SNF and AL wings with each assisted-living floor having smaller kitchens residents can use.
The SNF wings feature private and semi-private rooms. All with bathrooms with European-style showers, where there is no tub to step into, creating a completely open and accessible area. LECESSE partnered with Purcell Construction, Bernier, Carr and RLPS Architects on this project.
